Third: Wire the stepper motor to the driver, (using either the Nema 23 100-oz or the Nema 17 62-oz stepper motors, the wiring will be the same.
CNC USB CONTROLLER MK3 4 DRIVER
Personal Note: I would recommend that you crimp the VCC pin to a wire which could be split for the other axes as well, each driver will need 5V. GND on the USB board to GND on the driver. 5V will go to the VCC pin on the keyboard jog pins on the USB board (check schematic here: ). CW on the driver will go to CW on the desired axis on the USB board. Second: Wire the USB board to the driver(one driver per axis on the USB board): CP on the driver will go to CP on the desired axis on the USB board. (additional 3-4 wires connected to ground will be needed for the other axes as well). GND on the driver will also go to the GND on the USB board, for specific axis. Next wire the COM on the power supply to Ground(GND) on the 2.5A driver. First: Wire the 24V power supply to the 2.5A driver, by wiring +V on the power supply to 12-24V on the driver. However here is the correct wiring procedure. We are currently getting it completed for us to post it under the 2.5A stepper driver page.

My pick is that a quality USB cable will fix it though, worked for me.Ĭlick the link to respond: I have your USB controller sitting here and want to control it with something other than PlanetCNC control software?Ĭlick the link to respond: I have a planetcnc USB controller to run my project and when I start the 240v router the USB connection shuts down. Alternatively you may need to sheild your limit switch, estop and or motor cabling. In the first instance try to use a quality double sheilded USB cable, hopefully this will fix your problem. Additional Information: Additional Information: Additional Information: The planet cnc controller can be prone to electrical interference and has been known to cause such problems. The price combination is much higher than the USB controller with planet-cnc, but will work with Mach3. Second, if you have a laptop, or really want to use the USB as the main interface for controlling the machine, you will need to get the smoothstepper board which works with mach3. If you have a laptop/notebook computer, this will not be possible. There are two main alternatives if you want to use the mach3 software: First, get a parallel port card and add it to your computer and get a parallel breakout board.
CNC USB CONTROLLER MK3 4 SOFTWARE
The planet-cnc software delivers instructions to the microcontroller on the board and the microcontroller will send out the pulse trains needed to move the machine correctly. This software is well made and will provide great functionality. This controller is designed for Hobby and light industrial use.The USB controller will only work with the Planet-CNC software. It can be used as direct replacement for many parallel port break-out boards. The USB CNC controller is compatible with most step/dir drivers. This is a complete (software/hardware) solution and it does NOT require any additional software (Mach3 is NOT needed). It uses USB port which is available on all modern computers and laptops.
